The transfer window has swung into full flow as agents are making moves to negotiate with clubs over potential transfers. However, the Premier League clubs have been surprisingly quiet with no marquee deals announced by any of the top six clubs.
Arsenal have been linked with several players as they look to strengthen their squad. Celtic defender Kieran Tierney is the latest player to be touted to be a potential transfer for the club.
The Mirror reports that the Gunners have already had a bid of £15 million rejected by the Scottish Champions. It is understood that Celtic value the defender at £25 million but talks are still ongoing as both clubs look to reach a resolution.
It is understood that Arsenal are expected to make an improved offer of £19 million for the highly rated defender.
Tierney caused excitement for fans on social media when he was spotted in London over the weekend. Several fans had taken to social media to suggest that the player was on his way to negotiating personal terms.
However, MMA star Chris Bungard later revealed that the defender was in London on a visit to his place.
“Kieran is a friend. During pre-season he would sometimes come down to the gym and do a bit of training.
“But outside of the gym we go for food and stuff like that. He’s a great guy.”
From all indications, Arsenal appears to be the likely destination for Tierney next season.
