The future of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is uncertain as reports about a potential exit continue to gain momentum. The Frenchman has been linked with a transfer away from Old Trafford this summer.
One of the clubs looking to hire his services is Real Madrid and there is a new development regarding the transfer. Reports from Spain reveals that Real Madrid wants to undertake a swap deal for Pogba which would Gareth Bale join United.
Man United have placed a transfer fee of £130 million for Pogba but Madrid are looking to reduce the value by offering Gareth Bale. Bale has no future at Madrid with head coach Zinedine Zidane having informed the player of his decision.
Zidane is also keen on Pogba and has rejected the prospect of the club bringing Christian Eriksen as an alternative to Pogba. Spanish tabloid Marca reveals that Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has gone to England to negotiate an exit for his client.
United are reportedly open to the idea of bringing Bale back to England but the major problem with the transfer is the huge wage (£350,000) that the Welsh international commands.
Although the irony is that Manchester United are one of the few clubs in the world that can afford to pay such wages.
This transfer swap has a 50-50 chance of coming into fruition – but it would be naive ruling out the possibility of this deal pulling trough.
