£55m-rated attacker wants to play for Tottenham not Manchester United

Portugal international, Bruno Fernandes transfer situation has taken a new twist yet again.

The Daily Mail reports that the midfielder has informed Sporting Lisbon not to stand in his way out of the club. He also told the club he wants to play for Tottenham Hotspur and not Manchester United.

According to the report, Fernandes made this known during his discussion with Sporting Lisbon president, Federico Varandas on Friday.

The Portuguese club value Fernandes at £64 million, an offer which has scared away top clubs like Real Madrid, Marseille, PSG, who have at one point shown interest in him.

According to the same report, Spurs have submitted a transfer bid for Fernandes, which is far behind the Portuguese club price tag. Also, the Premier League side also sent delegates to Lisbon earlier this week to continue the transfer discussion.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino reportedly wants to sign Fernandes in a bid to reduce the workloads on the duo of Dele Alli and Son Heung-Min who play supporting roles for Harry Kane.

Fernandes is a goalscoring midfielder with 31 goals to his name last season.

With this latest report, we believe Man Utd will have to focus on signing Sergej Millinkovic-Savic from Lazio instead if they still want to sign a new midfielder this summer.
