Arsenal are in advanced talks for Real Madrid forward Lucas Vazquez. According to reports the Gunners are ready to pay £31 million for the player.
The 28-year-old has always been on the fringe player at Real Madrid since making his debut in 2015. The forward was a regular feature in the first team last term, as a result of injuries to Gareth Bale and Vinicius Junior.
However, the arrivals of Eden Hazard and Rodrigo means that there are more options for Real Madrid. This has weighed heavily on the player who is open to a move from the club and Arsenal are the looking likely to get his signature.
It is understood that Arsenal have tabled a transfer fee of £31million for his services. Arsenal manager Unai Emery is thought to be looking for a wide forward that can add width to the team.
Vasquez is a reliable winger that brings width and can also fill in as a right back. Crystal Palace winger Wilfred Zaha has also been linked with the move to the club.
However, Vasquez is seen as the cheaper signing, unlike the Ivorian who is valued at £80 million. Although it is not known how the club would be able to fund multiple signings as the transfer of Vasquez would take a huge chunk of the transfer kitty rumoured to be £45 million.
