Arsenal FC have made some progress in terms of signing new players under coach Unai Emery this summer. The Gunners have signed the likes of William Saliba, Dani Cellabos and the one that broke their transfer record, Pepe Nicolas among others.
However, with barely less than four days to the end of the summer transfer window, the Gunners are now working towards reinforcing his defence against next season by bringing in new players.
Metro Sport report that Arsenal have taken interest in France international, Dayot Upamecano.
The report added that the North London club have submitted a transfer bid of £55 million for the center-back, however, they are faced with challenges from RP Leipzig, who have stated that the defender will not be allowed to leave except his £92 million release clause is met.
Upamecano is considered one of the top defenders in the German football league and would serve as a replacement for contract rebel Laurent Koscielny who wants out of the club. performance have not been exceptional.
We don’t see Arsenal splashing £92 million for Upamecano considering the fact that they just signed Pepe for £72 million. If RP Leipzig refuse to beat down the price tag then the Gunners will have to look elsewhere.
Aside from the French defender, Arsenal have been linked with a move for Juventus defender, Daniele Rugani once again, perhaps they would be able to sign him this time around.
