Bid tabled, Man United close to completing deal for third summer signing

The English Premier League transfer window will officially come to a close, come August 8th. After this date English football clubs will be unable to sign new players but they would still be able to sell players to other European leagues, whose transfer window will still be on.

Man Utd are now moving fast to see that their transfer deal for England international Harry Maguire is wrapped up as soon as possible.

The Red Devils have been frustrated over the weeks by Leicester City in their desire to sign the English centre-back defender this summer.

Leicester rejected Man United transfer bid worth £70 million as they stated that they would only accept a transfer bid worth £82m.

Reports suggest for Man Utd to convince the Foxes to let Maguire leave, they would need to cough out more than £75 million which is what Liverpool paid for Virgil Van Dijk, who is currently the most expensive centre-back in the world.

Reports from the Daily Mirror, claims that Maguire had informed the Foxes he wants to leave the King Power Stadium this summer but the club management stated that except they get a mouth-watering offer he would not be allowed to leave.

For this reason, talkSPORT presenter, Jim White in a recent statement claimed that Man Utd have stepped up their transfer fee, he hinted that they have tabled a transfer bid worth £80 million to Leicester City for Maguire.

In addition, the Red Devils have given Leicester City until Monday to accept the bid or forget about it.

We believe the Foxes wouldn’t let this pass them by since the deal has been tabled to them formally.

Ole Solskjaer is determined to add a centre-back to the team to boost the club’s defence against next season.

Hopefully, Maguire will join the likes of James Daniel and Aaron Wan Bikasso as the Red Devils new boys at Old Trafford this summer.
