Club chief leaks update on Arsenal £30m deal for William Saliba

There is good news for Arsenal fans in the ongoing transfer window as one of their target player’s club have given them a transfer boost.

Saint-Etienne Supervisory Board President, Bernard Caiazzo, stated that William Saliba’s move to the North London club is still on track.

“Everything is on track with Arsenal,” Bernard Caïazzo confirmed on Friday afternoon. “William will do the season with us.”

This latest statement by Caiazzo is proof that the deal would be sealed anytime soon.

An earlier report had made it known that Arsenal have reached an agreement with the French club. The Gunners are expected to pay the sum of £27 million for the 18-year-old centre-back.

If this deal goes well, William Saliba will become Arsenal second signing after Gabriel Martineli.

However, there is a snag to the deal, which is that Willian Saliba will not resume at Arsenal immediately, rather the Gunners will loan him back to his current club for another one year.

This means the Gunners fans will still have to monitor his performance in the French Ligue 1 until he gets to play for the English club.

It is believed that once Arsenal complete the deal for Saliba which should be done next week, they would focus on other signings like Soares Everton and Ceballos.
