Good news for Arsenal fans as Wilfried Zaha transfer takes new twist

The transfer of Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha to Arsenal has been gaining steam in recent days. The Ivorian international is understood to be interested in making a move to London this summer.

However, Crystal Palace are wary over losing their star forward after the departure of defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United this summer. As a result, it is reported that the Eagles have slapped a £100 million fee for the services of the forward.

English tabloid Metro Sport claims that the Crystal Palace have bloated the forward’s price tag due to concerns over a backlash from their fans if they sell the forward for a lower fee this summer.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are extremely short of money, with the club only able to spend £45 million on transfers. The Gunners are expected to sell a couple of players to finance the transfer.

This is good news for the Gunners; Palace increasing their demands to £100 million means that Arsenal have been priced out of the deal, hence top scorer Aubameyang won’t be sold.

Zaha on his part has been pleading with the club to reduce their valuation. He appears to be the one pushing for the move.

Arsenal have also been linked with Belgium forward Yannick Carrasco and Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba in the past few weeks.
