Liverpool are reportedly interested in Ajax star Hakim Ziyech according to reports from England. it is understood that the Reds are looking at the 25-year-old as they look to finally bring in a capable replacement for Brazilian playmaker Coutinho.
Coutinho left Liverpool in January of 2018 and the club tried to sign Olympique Lyon ace Nabil Fekir last summer. However, the transfer failed to materialize due to a failed medical after a fee of £56 million had been agreed.
Despite the lack of a true playmaker Jurgen Klopp’s side are enjoying their best season in a while as they currently lie top of the EPL table and have a semifinal clash against Barcelona. Ziyech has been sensational for Ajax this season scoring 19 goals and providing 20 assists so far in the campaign.
The Morocco international is understood to be available in the summer for £25 million which is considered a bargain by Liverpool. The Reds won’t have it plain sailing as several top European clubs are interested in signing the forward.
Ziyech would be a good addition to the squad as he would reduce the reliance of the club on the front three and bring much-needed goals to the midfield.
