Manchester United have apparently secured their first signing of the summer as Swansea City midfielder Daniel James is scheduled to have his medicals today.
The 21-year-old Wales international was spotted at Manchester United Carrington training ground as he arrived to complete his £17 million transfer.
James is regarded as one of the top young players in England and impressed for Swansea in the Championship this season. His combination of pace and power on the wings made him a constant threat to oppositions’ defence.
He was close to a move to Leeds in January but Swansea cancelled the transfer at the last minute.
It is understood that Manchester United beat a number of clubs including Everton, Leicester and Monaco for the youngster signature. Solskjaer is looking to rebuild at Old Trafford and the club wants to add a blend of established and young talents.
Wales manager and Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs was also influential in the deal by giving a glowing recommendation in favour of James.
Swansea are expected to receive an initial £17 million with an extra £3 million in bonuses which is a good deal for the struggling club.
