According to the Metro Sport, it is reported that Manchester United are confident of signing Sporting Lisbon attacking midfielder and Portugal international, Bruno Fernandes.
Duncan Castles also corroborated the report in a Transfer window podcast. His statement showed that the Red Devils could indeed be making some progress already as Fernandes’ agent has told the Portuguese club to expect an offer for the player soon.
However, the publication from Portugal reports that the Red Devils will pay around £63 million to sign Fernandes, which is contrary to what Castles reported.
Castles also added that Man Utd could go ahead to make a bid for Bruno Fernandes and would spend around £54 million to complete the deal. Simon Peach, another close source to Man Utd agreed with the same price stated by Duncan Castles.
Peach added that the price can even go lower considering the fact that Sporting Lisbon needs to sell and the close of the transfer window is near.
Bruno Fernandes has been a long-time target of Manchester United but the situation surrounding the deal was confusing owing to conflicting reports.
24-year-old Fernandes will be a plus for coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team considering his attacking skills which saw him score 28 goals and provided 14 assists last season.
