Man United hold crunch talks over £100m double transfer

Manchester United are on course to complete the transfer of two class signings if report by the English media are in accordance with reality.

According to a report from The Independent, United are close  to agreeing deals for Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes. Both deals are expected to set the club back by over £100m if successful.

Wan-Bissaka is reported to have agreed personal terms with United, a five-year deal that could see the player earn over £80,000 per week. However, both clubs are yet to reach an agreement over the actual fee.

United are said to have tabled about £50m but they have been told to place a £60m bid for the right-back who is currently away on international duty with the England U21 side.

United are also reported to be in talks with Fernandes’ agent but are yet to make an official bid for the player. The player’s agent was in England earlier this week for talks with Tottenham and Man United. However, it is claimed that United are front-runners in the chase for the 24-year-old.

Spurs are still pondering on whether to make a move whilst Liverpool have seen their £40m bid for Fernandes hurriedly rejected by the Portuguese giants.

Sporting are willing to sell the Portuguese international for any deal worth £60m, a fee that is quite modest for an attacker who recorded 20 goals and 13 assists in 33 Primeira Liga apperances.
