Man United preparing stunning £50m bid for Josh McGinn

Manchester United are reportedly closing in on the transfer of Aston Villa midfielder Josh McGinn according to a widespread report. It is claimed that the newly promoted Premier League club has been approached by the Red Devils over a potential deal.

English tabloid the Sun broke the news that Manchester United are monitoring the player ahead of an official bid this summer.

It is understood that Villa are not open to selling the 24-year-old and have slapped a £50 million price tag on the midfielder in a bid to price United out of the deal.

McGinn has been exceptional for Aston Villa since making the £2.7 million switch from Hibernians last summer. He provided 10 assists and chipped in with six goals as he helped the team gain promotion last season.

Manchester United have been active in the transfer window having signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace and Daniel James from Swansea City.

Club boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has brought about a shift in the transfer policy quite reminiscent of the Alex Ferguson era, as the club now prefers signing young talented British players.

It is not known if the club have made contact with the Scotland international’s representatives but it appears the transfer could pick up steam in the coming days.
