One wouldn’t expect Manchester United to be interested in signing a new striker this summer.
Well, Belgium international and Manchester United striker, Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford to Italian club, Inter Milan.
To make it interesting, FCInterNews (h/t Sporting Witness) reports that the Red Devils are already looking for a replacement should Lukaku decides to leave.
FCInterNews added that Manchester United have once again turn their direction to another Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, having signed Alexis Sanchez in January 2018.
The report hinted that coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given his approval for the Red Devils to sign Aubameyang once Lukaku leaves and that Man Utd are ready to spend as high as €69 million on the Gabon international.
Aubameyang is arguably Arsenal’s best striker. He has 32 goals to his name since joining the Gunners in 2018 following his departure from Borussia Dortmund.
However, Man Utd don’t need a new striker even if Lukaku decides to leave as they already have the likes of Anthony Martial, Alexis Sanchez, and Marcus Rashford, all of whom can easily play the role.
Though seemingly improbable, United have a thing for signing strikers from Arsenal, having signed Robin van Persie in the summer of 2012.
