The transfer market is still on till August 8th and Man Utd are interested in bringing in new midfield players to the club before the deadline.
One of the midfield players the Red Devils want to sign is Sean Longstaff from Newcastle.
However, Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has landed transfer blow on Man Utd over the signing of Longstaff.
Ashley in his statement issued warnings to Man Utd as he stressed that Longstaff is not for sale at any price as the Magpies want to keep many of their youngsters.
According to the Metro Sport, Ashley said, ‘The message we want to put out is that he is not for sale,’‘If you’ve got one like Sean –keep him.’
21-year-old Longstaff had an impressive performance last season as he made nine outings in the Premier League outings and he has the prospect of getting better with regular playing chances.
Manager Ole Solskjaer wants a new midfielder following the departure of Ander Herrera last season and the likely transfer of Paul Pogba to Real Madrid this summer.
Considering Newcastle latest stance, the Red Devils will have to forget about Longstaff and look else.
Man United are reportedly on the verge of completing a transfer deal for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic so Ashley’s warning may have come a tad too late.
