Arsenal are set to submit a new bid for FC Lorient forward Alexis Claude-Maurice according to reports in France.
It is understood that Claude-Maurice is a priority target for the London club as they look to bolster their squad. According to the reports Arsenal are preparing a third bid for the player after Lorient rejected the last bid.
Claude-Maurice was one of the best performers for the Ligue 2 side last season and reportedly wants the move. Arsenal have agreed personal terms for the highly rated forward with only an agreement for a transfer fee delaying the deal.
Lorient are looking to get a premium fee for their star and wants close to £18 million for the France u21 ace.
This transfer looks likely to happen, as the player is keen on the move but £18 million is too much for a second division player. However, here’s how Claude-Maurice will look in an Arsenal shirt if he makes the move to north London.
Claude-Maurice would be expected to take the place of Danny Welbeck in the club. Welbeck is expected to leave this summer after an injury riddled spell at the Emirates.
Claude-Maurice has what it takes to succeed in the Premier League and would be following the footsteps of Mateo Guendouzi who switched clubs last summer.
