Italian club, Inter Milan were able to complete a late transfer deal for Belgium international, Romelu Lukaku from Man Utd this summer.
The transfer deal cost the Italian side £74 million, which makes Lukaku the third most expensive player in the Italian Seria A after Cristiano Ronaldo and Gonzola Higuain.
Lukaku arrived Italy amidst much fanfare after he completed the transfer away from Old Trafford to San Siro.
Lukaku apparently made up his mind to leave United after it became clear that Solsjaer favours England international, Marcus Rashford ahead in the striking role.
He had also refused to return to training with the Red Devils after the pre-season tour.
The Belgian after agreeing his contract terms with Inter Milan said, “Inter were the only club I wanted.”
“I’m here to bring the Nerazzurri back to the top.”
Following the departure of Lukaku, the Red Devils are now left with just three senior strikers; Alexis Sanchez, Rashford and Anthony Martial.
Lukaku, 26, joined Man Utd from Everton at £75 million and still had 2 years left of his contract before he left for San Siro.
He made 96 appearances for the Red Devils with 42 goals to his name.
We can only but wish him well in the Italian Seria A.
