‘Reminds me of Lampard’ – Fans react to Chelsea star’s display v Reading

Chelsea continued their preparations for the new season with an exciting 4-3 victory against Reading. One player that impressed in the game was young midfielder Mason Mount. The former Derby County midfielder scored twice in the game.

His performances in pre-season have not gone unnoticed by Chelsea fans who were out Twitter to praise his latest performance.

Mason Mount brace came within three minutes of his first goal and helped seal the win for the Europa Cup holders after goals from Ross Barkley and Kenedy. Mount is expected to play a major role in the upcoming campaign as the Blues are restricted from signing players due to the transfer embargo placed on the club by FIFA.

So far he has been used in the role behind the striker as Lampard favours the 4-2-3-1 formation. Mount also has the advantage of playing for Lampard last season during his time at Derby County.

Mount would be hoping to match his tally of 14 goals recorded last season during his loan spell at Derby in the Championship. Chelsea still have two matches left in pre-season against Red Bull Salzburg and Borussia Monchengladbach.

From the looks of things the 20-year-old is likely to be a starter ahead of the first game if the EPL at Old Trafford.
